Installing a mezuzah

The mezuzah goes on the right doorpost as you enter the house.

One

First, say the blessing:

Baruch atah Adonai eloheinu melech haolam asher kidshanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu likboa mezuzah

Blessed are You, Adonai our God, sovereign of space and time, who sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to affix the mezuzah.

Two

Put the mezuzah about two thirds of the way up the right doorpost, leaning toward the house interior.

Three

After you’ve put up the mezuzah, say the blessing for doing new things:

Baruch atah Adonai eloheinu melech haolam shehecheyanu v’kiyamanu v’higiyanu lazman hazeh

Blessed are You, Adonai our God, sovereign of space and time, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.
